Wynne expresses concern over ‘silver bullet vaccine’



A North West Secondary School vice-principal has warned against teachers and students rushing to avail of Covid-19 vaccines.

 

The INTO’s John Boyle had called for them to be prioritised when the vaccine becomes available.

 

Sean Wynne is the Vice-Principal of Drumshanbo Vocational School.

 

He says he was taken aback by the comments from Mr Boyle adding that more information and data is needed on any vaccines.

 

 

Meanwhile the Education Minister says she has every confidence teachers will be considered when priority groups for a Covid vaccine are being decided.

 

 

The first formal meeting of a new government task force will take place on Monday to discuss how a potential vaccine would be rolled out.

 

Two jabs have proven to be 95 per cent effective in trials so far.
