Spate of home break-ins across Sligo and Leitrim



The home of the family responsible for the Sligo Homeless Christmas Appeal was broken into yesterday afternoon.

Their house which is situated on the main street in Ballinacarrow was broken into shortly after ten to one yesterday.

A number of items have been stolen from the property including Jewellery, Money and other personal belongings. However, the donations made on behalf of the Homeless appeal remain intact.

This incident was part of a number of break in’s right across the North West with similar burglaries in Rathcormac and Drumshanbo that took place yesterday.

Claire Barden, who is involved in The Sligo Homeless Christmas Appeal is offering a reward to her mothers jewellery to be returned to the family:
