People living in isolation raised at Manorhamilton Municipal District meeting

People living in rural Ireland such as Kiltyclogher are feeling isolated and due to the lack of transport services that are available to them in the lead up to the Christmas period.

Calls are being made on the rural link service to provide a service to the resident of the Leitrim village which would connect them to Manorhamilton where they could then proceed if they wished to a number of other towns such as Kinlough, Carrick-on-Shannon, Sligo and Enniskillen.

The issue arose at this month’s Manorhamilton municipal District of Leitrim County Council by Councillors Felim Gurn and Sean McDermott

Local Fine Gael Councillor Sean McDermott says that an adequate transport service is required for those in the town that do not have their own transport in the town and also to attract new resident that would ensure that vital services are maintained such as the local national school
