Two motions passed in relation to safe crossings in Ballisodare and Collooney



Two motions have been passed today in relation to safe crossing in two of Sligo’s towns by Sligo County Council.

Designs have been drawn up for a footbridge in Ballisodare with a public consultation to take place before the plans are finalsed and then funding will be sought.

While the Roads Department are to meet with representatives from the ‘Safe Crossing for Collooney’ group to discuss the possible implementation of a footbridge on the approach into the area.

Both motions were proposed by Sinn Fein Councillor, Thomas Healey.

Speaking at the council meeting this afternoon, Councillor Healey says the Ballisodare group have been waiting a long time and it’s good to see an end in sight.

While he also welcomes the positive developments for Collooney.
