There is huge disappointment and frustration within the local tourism industry with the fact that a proposed Greenway on the Sligo Leitrim Northern Cavan Railway has once again been unsuccessful in securing any funding from the department of transport and tourism in the latest round of funding.
Local independent Councillor Felim Gurn expressed his particular disappointment with Minister Shane Ross who recently visited the Greenway site at Glenarne along with the DUP Leader Arlene Foster.
Speaking to Ocean FM Felim Gurn says the fact that the project is not “shovel ready” should not mean it would not be considered for funding. The Manorhamilton based also accused of ignoring the SLNCR project despite he claims using it for political gain in February.
