A full recount of votes is underway for the Ballymote-Tubbercurry electoral area in Sligo.
Returning Officer John Moran made the announcement following the fourth count just before 4pm this afternoon.
He said the recount was requested by Independent candidate Barry Gallagher, who is tied on 1109 votes with Fianna Fáil’s Keith Henry.
Meanwhile, counting for the Sligo-Strandhill area is continuing.
