Cleanups taking place in North Sligo tomorrow

A number of clean ups are taking place in Co. Sligo tomorrow.

Happening annually for the last 8 years, communities have been keeping Grange Village and Streedagh beach clean for locals and visitors.

It’s taking place between 2pm and 4.30pm with volunteers meeting at Grange playground.

Independent Councillor Marie Casserly is chairperson of the North Sligo Playground Group and says each year they collect around 40 – 50 bags of rubbish and trailer loads of plastic.

Speaking to OceanFM News, Councillor Casserly says it’s in conjunction with the An Taisce National Spring Clean and is a great community event.
