Armistice Day event taking place in Sligo Town on Sunday



The centenary of Armistice Day is tomorrow and to mark the occasion, and event is taking place in Sligo.

Recent research by Ancestry.ie estimates that over 49,000 Irish died in ‘The Great War’ with 604 people from Sligo.

On Sunday a parade with people dressed in civilian clothing will be marching through the town representing and remembering all 604 who lost their lives.

The Blue Raincoat Theatre in Sligo is the organiser of the event and co-founder Niall Henry has more info.
