Funding of over €1.6m has been allocated towards the construction of 8 new houses at an estate in Ballymote in Co Sligo.
Local Fine Gael Cllr Dara Mulvey has welcomed the allocation for Cuan Íosa which he says will increase accommodation for elderly residents.
It is an estate that allows the elderly community to live independently and it’s ideally located close to Ballymote Community Nursing home, the Railway station and local shops and churches.
Sligo County Council granted final planning permission for this scheme of houses in November 2017 and it will now be brought forward to the October meeting of Sligo County Council for final stage 4 approval.
