Coolaney wins Gold Medal in Tidy Towns competition



The village of Coolaney in County Sligo has won a Gold Medal in the Tidy Towns Competitions.

The results were announced this afternoon.

Keadue in County Roscommon and Letterkenny also won a gold medal.

Sligo town won a silver medal.

Highly commended were Riverstown and Ballintogher in Co Sligo, and Drumshanbo, in Co Leitrim.

Category winners in Donegal included Glencolmcille, Clonmany, Glenties, Kilcar, Lettermacaward, and Killybegs.

In Leitrim, category winners included Drumkeerin, Drumshanbo, Dromahair, Manorhamilton, while in Sligo, there were category winners throughout the entire county.

Local councillor in Coolaney, Dara Mulvey, paid tribute to all the winners.
