Funding boost for Donegal and Knock airports



There’s a welcome boost in funding for airports in the region.

Ireland West Airport Knock has been approved for €1.8m in funding from the Department of Tourism Transport and Sport.

While Donegal Airport is to receive nearly €700,000

Donegal Airport carried over 89,000 passengers in the past year while nearly 750,000 passengers used Knock according to management.

Ireland West Airport Knock is starting work on its new Tourist Visitor Centre in February with plans for it to be finished by next summer.

Managing Director of Ireland West Airport Knock Joe Gilmore says it will be an opportunity for businesses to display some of the unique produce coming from the West and North West:
