No increase in Special Needs Assistants in Leitrim

Leitrim is the only county in the region not to see an increase in the number of special needs assistants allocated to schools.

The allocation of 975 additional posts to schools from September to December was announced by Minister for Education Richard Bruton, yesterday.

Donegal will get 44 extra SNAs, bringing the total number of assistants in the county to 698.

While the total number of SNA’s allocated to Sligo schools has increased by 12 to 152. County Leitrim’s allocation remains the same at 65.
