Nine businesses first to receive Donegal Food Coast brand approval

Nine Donegal businesses have become the first in the county to receive official approval to display the Donegal Food Coast brand.

Use of the brand allows businesses to show they are either a Donegal-based producer or a business sourcing produce from Donegal.

The nine Donegal businesses now entitled to use the brand are Doherty’s Potatoes from Bridgend, Donegal Brewing Company from Ballyshannon; Wholegreen, The Counter Deli and The Lemon Tree, all in Letterkenny; Mulroy Bay Mussels from Cranford, O’Donnell’s Bakery from Laghey, Tara Hotel in Killybegs, and Filligan’s from Glenties.

Further applications are currently being processed.

Interested food businesses should get in touch with the Local Enterprise Office.

Michael Tunney, head of enterprise in Donegal, tells Ocean FM the purpose of the Donegal Food Coast Brand.
