A Sligo councillor says he is confident people will vote for the restoration of local councils that were abolished by the last government.
Independent Councillor Declan Bree proposed at this week’s meeting of Sligo County Council that the council welcome a committment in the Programme for Government to consider establishing town and borough councils if people vote for it in local plebiscites.
Councillor Bree told Ocean FM why he put down the motion.
