Orange high fire risk warning in place

Sligo County Council is reminding people that there’s an orange high fire risk warning in place until 12 pm on Monday.

Members of the public are urged to exercise caution during this phase of extremely dry weather.

The use of barbeques, camp fires and other open ignition sources should be avoided in or near areas where there is a risk of a vegetation fire starting (areas with gorse, forestry, heather or dry grasses).

If you see a fire, do not delay. Report it to the Fire Service straight away by calling 999 or 112. Do not wait for somebody else to make the call. You will not be billed by Sligo County Council for making the call.
