North west beaches awarded blue flags

A number of beaches across the north west have been awarded blue flags for 2024.

The blue flag is an environmental award made to beaches and marinas that demonstrate good environmental standards and have good sanitary and safety facilities.

In Donegal, Bundoran, Fintra, Murvagh and Rossnowlagh are among those in Donegal honoured.

While in Sligo, Enniscrone and Rosses Point have been awarded blue flags.

Both beaches have also been awarded green coasts awards.

Fellow county Sligo beaches, Dunmoran and Streedagh have also received green coast awards.

Green coast awards recognise beaches for their clean environment, excellent water quality and natural beauty.
