Summerhill College’s run in this year’s Connacht Senior ‘A’ Schools Cup ended at the semi-final stage on Tuesday when they were edged out by last year’s beaten finalists, Marist College Athlone by 21 points to 19.
Summerhill, playing at home, were on the verge of victory as they led 19-18 deep into injury-time.
However, Marist coverted a last-gasp penalty to clinch a dramatic win – and set up a final against the winners of Wednesday’s semi-final between St Muredach’s and holders Sligo Grammar School (1pm).
