Leitrim continued their winning ways in the Lidl national football league Division 4 with a nine-point victory in Carlow this afternoon.
Jonny Garrity’s side started the game off by conceding the first five points of the match, but the importance of Leah Fox’s goal to bring it back to a one point game proved crucial, as they ended the first half trailing by one-point-game.
Leitrim controlled the second half’s proceedings, scoring one goal and eleven points. Limiting the hosts to just a goal and a point.
Today’s win was Leitrim’s fifth of the season, which will guarantee them in the top two of the division after this weekend’s fixtures.
Leitrim round off their league campaign with a trip to Glennon Brothers Pearse Park against Longford next Sunday.
