A Sligo Leitrim TD says funding will be made available in 2024 for the development for the N17.
Fine Gael TD Frank Feighan has confirmed the news this morning.
Sligo County Council had called for 2.5m euro to be allocated for the development of the road.
The project was thrown into doubt last year when Minister for Transport, Eamon Ryan, announced that no funding was to be made available.
Speaking to Ocean FM News on Tuesday morning Deputy Feighan says funding has been secured for the project.
