Calls are being made for Sligo County Council to support the new management of the Art Deco building in Ballymote.
The new group have big plans to turn the building into a “cultural hub” – incorporating theatre, cultural events and events through Irish.
It’s understood a motion on the issue will be brought forward at the next meeting of the Ballymote Tubbercurry Municipal District.
Local Fine Gael Councillor, Dara Mulvey, feels the project needs the support of Sligo County Council to harness its true potential.
