Large number of homes and premises still without power



There are still 550 local homes and businesses without power this morning as a result of damage caused by recent storms.

 

The areas impacted included Aghagad in Sligo, Ballyshannon, Donegal Town, and Glenties in County Donegal.

 

While the Arigna area that takes in part of Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal has still almost 200 premises without electricity.

 

The number in Aghagad stand at 67, 161 in Ballyshannon and 22 between Donegal and Glenties.

 

Nationally there were 34,000 without power overnight.

 

ESB networks says their repair crews worked late into the night, and will mobilise again at first light.

 

The Dublin Airport Authority says with winds forecast to remain strong into the early hours of the morning – passengers are advised to contact their airline directly for updates regarding flights.

 

 

The latest weather event began clearing during the early hours and yellow warnings will continue to ease as the morning progresses.
