Sligo Councillor says improvements in Hospital running is leading to reduced numbers on waiting lists



The Department of Health has claimed that the numbers on hospital waiting lists have reduced in the North West.

 

Recent figures released by Department officials say the numbers waiting has reduced by 10,500 to the end of last year.

 

What is being described as ‘significant progress’ is being made when it comes to those waiting 12 months.

 

The numbers waiting on day procedures also reduced by 28 per cent in the same period.

 

Sligo County Councillor Donal Gilroy is also a member of the Regional Health Forum West.

 

He says improvements across the entire hospital in Sligo is contributing to the reduced numbers.
