Dromahair Guest House owner claims refugees staying at his premises are ‘caught in a pissing match’ between Leitrim County Council and IPAS

The owner of a guest house in Leitrim that is currently housing 23 people from the Ukraine has hit out at plans by IPAS and Leitrim County Council to move them out of the accommodation.

JJ O Hara runs the Castle View B&B in Dromahair Co Leitrim.

He claims some of refugees currently living with him need specialist medical treatment while the younger members that have moved into his guest house have settled into the local schools.

He says the reason why those who have been staying with him are being forced to move is unclear.

He went on to add that it was a result of a ‘pissing match’ between two government departments.

Speaking to Ocean FM Mr O Hara has confirmed that he has made a representation to the Ukraine Ambassador.

The North Leitrim guest house owner says implementing such a move with accommodation is such short supply does not make sense.
