Department of integration confirm they are not expecting refugees to be housed in Abbey Manor inside the next number of weeks

It unlikely that any refugees will be arriving in the Abbey Manor Hotel in Dromahair inside the next number of weeks.

The Department of integration has confirmed that the status of building is ‘under dispute’.

Recent correspondence seen by OceanFM News which was received by the local concerned citizens group from the Department of integration has confirmed that the status of the building remains disputed.

Towards the end of November of last year, the Local Authority in Leitrim confirmed that the facility was under active consideration by their Planning Department.

The correspondence was dispatched at the same time as it emerged that almost 600 recently arrived asylum seekers are now without State-provided accommodation.

Late last week it was reported 569 recently arrived asylum seekers who have not been offered any State accommodation.

The Department of integration stopped offering accommodation to all single, male asylum seekers on December 4th amid the nationwide shortage.
