“Overcrowding challenges” continue to impact- INMO



“Overcrowding challenges” continue to impact a number of hospitals including Sligo and Letterkenny according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.

 

Both Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospital’s have been battling outbreaks of RSV, COVID and influenza infections the last number of weeks.

 

The organisation is calling for the HSE and individual hospital groups to introduce “immediate de-escalation measures in some of the worst affected areas.”

 

81 people were waiting for beds between the two facilities this morning.

 

42 were waiting for a bed at Sligo while 39 were waiting at Letterkenny.
