Asylum seekers will be arriving in the Abbey Manor Hotel in Dromahair before Christmas.
A meeting took place between the local representative group and a community engagement team at which the news was confirmed.
Department officials confirmed that a mixture of families and single men will be arriving in the North Leitrim Village despite the Local Authority having planning concerns in relation to the facility.
