Representatives needed on Irish Deer Management Strategy Group

The absence of a representative from the Irish Deer Commission in the newly established Irish Deer Management Strategy Group has been criticised by a local election candidate.

It’s hoped that recommendations published last week from the group will lead to a reduced number of deer in the north west region.

The report includes a summary of the responses to a Public Consultation process and a complete list of the recommendations produced by each of the sub-committees.

Leitrim Labour Party representative, Bernie Linnane, says expert opinion and public information are needed.
