Start of cruise season in Killybegs kicks off tomorrow



The start of the cruise season in Killybegs is set to kick off tomorrow.

 

The first ship of an estimated 25 such liners to visit the town this summer will pull into port tomorrow.

 

The Seabourne Venture is set to dock in the Donegal coastal harbour town at 8am and will leave again at 6pm.

 

Over 260 passengers are to disembark and spend some time in Killybegs.

 

It’s one of the smaller groups to visit the area over the summer however it’s estimated that almost 20,000 passengers on various cruise ships are due to visit Killybegs from now until September 17th next.

 

It’s expected to be a big tourism boost to the area.

 

The Norwegian Star which is due to arrive Saturday week is to bring the biggest number of staff and passengers.

 

It’s estimated that the ship will bring almost 3,400 people to the fishing port.
