Updated with audio: New yellow weather warning issued for Sligo & Leitrim



Another weather warning has been issued for the counties of Sligo and Leitrim.

 

 

Met Eireann have given notification of a status yellow weather warning for eight counties from this evening.

 

 

The low temperature and ice warning will affect Sligo, Leitrim the reminder of Connacht as well as midland counties, Longford, Offaly and Westmeath.

 

 

Met Éireann says it will be very cold, with frost and ice leading to potentially hazardous driving conditions and animal welfare issues.

 

The warning will come into effect from 6 o’clock this evening and will remain in place until 10 tomorrow morning.
