Sligo councillor calls for urgent action to address driving tests backlog

There are renewed calls being made this morning for the Minister for Transport to address the backlog of applicants waiting to sit their driving tests.

It’s understood that there are 716 people in County Sligo waiting to sit the test.

Ballymote Tubbercurry Councillor Dara Mulvey says the situation is not acceptable.

The Fine Gael Councillor says many young people living in rural parts of Sligo urgently need to obtain a full license.

Cllr Mulvey is calling Eamon Ryan to put a plan in place to tackle the backlog and to assist the excellent staff at the Sligo driving test centre
