Sligo Deputy raises concerns that local childcare facilities have with Department of Children



A number of independent childcare facilities in Sligo and Leitrim are said to be in crisis.

 

Some local providers are reportedly finding it increasingly difficult in dealing with the Department of Children over account records.

 

In a bid to access the National Childcare Scheme, providers must provide one set of accounts to the Department and other set to Revenue.

 

The issue was raised in the Dail by Sligo Leitrim Independent TD Marian Harkin.

 

Responding, the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar says like any new scheme there will be teething problems:
