Sligo University Hospital has been ranked the third most overcrowded facility for the month of October.
A total of 730 people awaited admission there over the course of the month – it’s a slight rise compared to 700 recorded in October 2022.
Today there are 30 people awaiting admission there this morning.
Nationally, there were over 10,500 waiting at hospitals across the country during the month of October.
In a statement issued today, the INMO says there is acute pressure along the western seaboard.
They are calling on both HSE and Government to outline what steps are being taken both at national and local level to dramatically reduce the number of patients on trolleys.
