Gardai issue fresh appeal over fatal road traffic collision in Rusheen

Gardai have made a further appeal for information over this week’s fatal road traffic collision in County Sligo.

Local man Anthony Connolly, who was in 50s, was killed when the e-scooter he was on collided with a van near Riverstown on Wednesday night.

The driver of the van, a man in his 30’s, was taken to Sligo University Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

An investigation is continuing.

Meanwhile, Gardai are warning that they will be out in force in Sligo and elsewhere this Bank Holiday weekend.

Checkpoints are planned for a number of locations across the region over the next few days, with Gardai set to clampdown on various offences.
