Peter McVerry Trust seek bailout

The Department of Housing says it’s considering a request from the Peter McVerry Trust for a bailout.

The housing charity has been experiencing financial trouble for a number of months.

An oversight group from the department and the Dublin Regional Homeless Executive is considering the bailout request.

The Department says its priority is to ensure the charity continues to provide support to people experiencing homelessness.

The former Leitrim County Manager, Danny McLoughlin was recently appointed as interim Chief Executive of the Peter McVerry Trust.

The Arigna native resigned as Chief Executive of South Dublin County Council earlier this year.
