Sligo TD fears the most vulnerable will suffer most from health cuts

A Sligo Leitrim TD will raise concerns in relation to the health budget later in the Dáil.

It’s being reported that Health Minister Stephen Donnelly was refused additional funding for cancer services, maternity strategies and new drugs in budget negotiations.

It’s claimed that Minister Donnelly also wanted to reduce the cap for the drug payment scheme by €20.

Details of the health Ministers budget demands came to light as the Government will face further Dáil debates about health-service funding.

Sligo Leitrim independent Deputy Marian Harkin, will raise the issues later with the Minister and says it’s disappointing that many vulnerable people will be impacted by the cuts.
