Ballyshannon Councillor expresses concern with the decision to remove lifeguards during warm spell of weather



Factors such as the current Indian summer weather and the large influx of people from other counties now living in the North West should be taken into consideration before leaving beaches in this region without life guard cover.

 

That’s the warning being issued by Donegal Municipal District councillor Barry Sweeney.

 

The Fine Gael elected representative has expressed concern the majority of local beaches having their life guard cover removed after the second weekend of September.

 

There have been several reports of visitors to the county needing assistance after getting into difficulty at a number of bathing locations including some in the this region.
