Sligo University Hospital joint-third most overcrowded in the country



There were 73 people on trolleys in the North West’s two main hospitals this morning.

Sligo University Hospital had 37 people waiting for a bed this morning, making it the joint third most overcrowded facility in the country, alongside University Hospital Galway. The remaining 36 people waiting were in Letterkenny University Hospital.

University Hospital Limerick continues to be the busiest hospital, with 90 people awaiting admission there.

Nationwide, there were 534 people on trolleys in hospitals around the country today, 380 of which were in emergency departments.
