Search volunteers in Grange requested not to use drones

Searches are continuing for a young man who is missing from Grange.

22-year-old David Slanina was last seen when he left his home at around 4:30pm on Saturday.

Over the last number of days a large number of people have volunteered in the ongoing multi-agency search which has been focusing close to Benbulben and the Munninane area.

Army Personnel as well as the search and rescue helicopter are assisting with the search today.

With the search and rescue helicopter using sensitive equipment, a request has been issued for no drone usage in the area today.

The request is also being made to volunteers that had been using drones in recent days as the search operation was ramped up.

The search operation resumed again this morning at 10 a.m. with a number of local volunteers involved.

It’s expected that the search operation could be stood down this evening and is unlikely to resume again until Saturday
