Investigation continues into an alleged weekend assault at Slieve League

The two people arrested in connection with an alleged weekend assault at Slieve League have been released without charge.

It’s being reported Gardai are treating a suspected assault in Co. Donegal as a possible murder after the discovery of a ‘blood-spattered’ car which is now being forensically examined.

Public access to Slieve League remains closed.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have information to contact them.

Any road users who were travelling in the vicinity of Slieve League between Saturday and Sunday evening last and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Ballyshannon Garda Station on 071 985 8530, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.

Gardai say that further updates will follow.
