A man in his 40’s arrested for an offence under the Misuse of Drugs Act following a Criminal Assets Bureau search operation in a number of counties including Sligo.
The search operation was conducted by Bureau Officers supported by the Regional Armed Support Unit Gardaí attached to Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon, Cork and Westmeath and the Revenue Customs Dog Unit.
The operation resulted in the seizure of €59,000 cash, Cannabis to an estimated value of €2,000 as well as documentation and electronic devices
The man arrested was detained at a Garda station in Co. Westmeath and has since been released without charge.
It’s understood that a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
