Sligo community hospital found in breach of HIQA regulations

According to the latest HIQA report, inspections were carried out in 50 residential and nursing homes around the country. Among them was St John’s Community Hospital in Ballytivnan, Co. Sligo, who were found to be non-compliant in seven regulations.

Among the breaches in compliance in St John’s were issues with staffing, governance and management, notification of incidents, written policies and procedures, premises, individual assessment and care plan, and managing behaviour that is challenging.

St John’s was one of nine centres within the report that was found to be non-compliant with four or more regulations.

They will now have to issue HIQA with a full report with compliance plans to demonstrate how they will make improvements and come into compliance with the regulations.
