Fianna Fáil candidates selected to contest local elections in Sligo/Strandhill

Fianna Fáil Councillors Tom MacSharry and Rosaleen O’Grady have been selected to run in next local elections for the Sligo/Strandhill Municipal District.

The selection took place following a party meeting in Sligo last night.

Councillor llr MacSharry is currently the Mayor of the Sligo Borough District while Councilllor O’Grady currently holds the position of Leas-Cathaoirleach for the Sligo Strandhill Municipal District.

There had been speculation earlier this year that Tom MacSharry may run in the next General Election after his cousin, Marc MacSharry, resigned from Fianna Fáil last year.
