An Garda Síochána are encouraging people to apply to the force as part of their major recruitment drive.
The deadline for applications is approaching, with the closing date on April 14th.
One thousand new Gardai will be recruited this year.
The much-needed boost for Garda numbers and morale comes after a string of high profile assaults on Garda officers in recent months.
And it comes after recent figures showed the numbers of Gardai resigning has quadrupled in the past four years.
Speaking to Ocean FM News, Inspector Gerry Curley, who is based in Sligo, stressed that joining An Garda Síochána is a very rewarding job:
