Hopes additional bus services can be established in Sligo & Leitrim



There are hopes that additional bus services can be established in Sligo and Leitrim.

It follows a meeting held yesterday between a number of transport representatives and local Councillors.

Figures show that over four thousand people use the local link service in Sligo and its thought extra buses would meet an expected increase in demand.

Councillor Thomas Healy believes that there are number of areas which would benefit from the roll out of an enhanced service:

 

Long running concerns have also been expressed for some time over the service that covers areas such as Maugheraboy, Finisklin Estate, and the First Sea Road.

A route review will take place in the next few weeks and Councillor Marie Casserly is hopeful following this review that the S3 bus service will become a reality throughout Sligo:
