Senior members of the Government are calling on Sinn Féin’s Housing Spokesperson to apologise to Gardaí.
It’s after Deputy Eoin Ó Broin tweeted a picture of current members of the force super-imposed onto a caricature painting of a famine eviction.
In it, Gardaí are seen standing over a person on the ground who is being forced to leave their home, and it was posted hours after the eviction ban expired.
Fine Gael TD Alan Farrell has branded the posting of the picture by Deputy O’Broin as “utterly pathetic”:
