Leitrim hold their nerve to reach league final

Leitrim women’s gaelic footballers came from five points down at half-time to beat Fermanagh by two after extra-time in Sunday’s eventful Lidl national football league Division 4 game in Templeport, Co Cavan.

Leitrim won on a final scoreline of 1-12 to 1-10.

Jonny Garrity’s side will play Antrim in the league decider on Sunday, April 16th, at Parnell Park in Dublin (throw-in: 2pm).

Elsewhere, Donegal’s demotion from Division 1 was confirmed after a heavy home defeat to Mayo in Letterkenny.

Sligo kept their Division 3 status for next year despite Sunday’s home defeat to Offaly at Kent Park.

Results elsewhere meant that Longford were relegated to Division 4 instead.
