Fire service could solve ambulance delay debacle – MacLochlainn



Both the Government and the National Ambulance Service are being urged once again to allow fire and rescue personnel act as first responders if an ambulance can’t attend a scene within an acceptable time period.

 

Those within the fire service are fully trained in this regard however its felt that they are being underutilised.

 

It comes as County Sligo has some of the worst ambulance response times in the country.
