A Leitrim based member of the Labour party has signalled her intentions to contest the 2024 local elections in the Manorhamilton Municipal District.
Bernie Linnane says she would be interested in contesting the election on behalf of the party adding that it’s an exciting time to be part of the Labour Parliamentary Party.
Commenting on the current make up of both the Manor Municipal District and the local Authority in Leitrim Bernie Linnane says a greater female representation is needed.
The financial broker and accountant who lives and works in Leitrim was previously involved in the Repeal campaign of 2018 is also the Founder member of Leitrim for Choice movement.
Speaking to OceanFM News she confirmed that it’s her ambition to secure the party nomination at an upcoming party convention.
