Gardai investigating Geevagh burglary



Another burglary has taken place in county Sligo.

 

Gardaí have confirmed to ocean FM news that they responded to the scene of a burglary which took place at approximately 5:05pm yesterday evening  in the Geevagh area of Co Sligo.

 

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.

 

Meanwhile in response to the increased number of such crimes in the local region a Sligo councillor is calling for greater cooperation between various community alert groups is Sligo to help combat the increasing number of burglaries in many parts of the county.

 

Cllr Thomas Healy says it’s vital that text alert schemes are connected in order to prevent criminals moving undetected from one rural area to another.

 

The Sinn Fein Councillor says the more people that are aware of suspicious vehicles operating in an area the greater the chance of assistance being provided to the Gardaí.
