A Sligo Leitrim TD has confirmed that she will be supporting a Sinn Fein motion on mortgage interest relief.
The motion, set to come before the Dail later, is calling on the Government to introduce timely, targeted and temporary mortgage interest relief to support borrowers struggling with rising interest rates.
Mortgage holders are currently seeing a large rise in their interest costs as a result of interest rate hikes.
Independent TD Marian Harkin says its important for the Minister for Finance, Michael McGrath to give careful consideration to the motion:
